Privacy

The short version

This site has no login, no account, and no order form. It does not ask for your name, your health information, or a payment method.

One measurement vendor is loaded: Google Analytics 4. It counts pages viewed and links clicked. Advertising features are switched off and stay off.

A standing opt-out control sits on this page. Use it and measurement stops in this browser.

What is collected

Google Analytics 4 records ordinary web measurement: which pages load, how long a visit lasts, roughly which region a request came from, which page sent you here, and which outbound links get clicked.

It also stores a randomly generated identifier in your browser so two visits from the same browser are counted as one returning reader rather than two new ones. That identifier is not a name and nothing here attaches one to it.

Serving a page also involves ordinary network information, such as the IP address a request arrives from, handled by the hosting service in the course of delivering the page.

What is not collected

No health information. Nothing here asks what you weigh, what you take, or what condition you have, and there is no field in which to tell us.

No advertising identifiers. Advertising storage, ad personalization, and ad user data are set to denied for every visitor, from the first request onward, and there is no control that turns them on.

Because advertising storage never turns on, no advertising profile is built from your visit and there is no advertising identifier here to sell or share.

The opt-out posture, stated exactly

Measurement begins when you arrive. Analytics storage is allowed by default, and you can switch it off whenever you want.

Advertising storage never begins. It is denied on arrival and stays denied for the whole visit.

Global Privacy Control is honored, and it is checked before anything else runs. If your browser sends that signal, measurement does not start and you do not have to set anything by hand.

Your control over measurement

The opt-out control takes effect immediately, without a reload.

It is stored locally in the browser you set it in. It does not follow you to another browser, another device, or a private window, so set it in each place you want it.

Clearing your browser's site data clears the opt-out along with everything else, and you will need to set it again.

Cookies and browser storage

Two things are stored in your browser: the analytics cookies set by Google Analytics, and one local setting recording your opt-out if you set one.

There is nothing else. No advertising cookie, no cross-site pixel, and no third-party tag beyond the one measurement vendor named above.

When you click through to a provider

A provider link takes you to that company's own site. From that point their privacy policy governs, and this one stops applying.

Where a company is a paid partner, the outbound hop attaches identifiers telling the affiliate network which site and which position sent the click. Those identifiers describe the page, not you.

Where a company is not a paid partner, the link carries no tracking at all.

Your rights, and what there is to exercise them on

Several state laws give residents the right to ask what information is held about them, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted.

Because this site keeps no account and no name, there is usually nothing tied to you to return, correct, or delete. A request is still answered, and it is answered honestly rather than with a form letter.

No certification is claimed

This site collects no health records and holds no privacy certification, audit, seal, or accreditation. None is claimed anywhere on it.

What is described above is what the site does. It is not a compliance badge, and it should not be read as one.

Children

This site is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

If you believe a child has sent information here, write to the privacy address above and it will be deleted.

Changes and contact

When this policy changes in a way that matters, the effective date at the top moves with it.
