GoodRx Care Direct Review

GoodRx Care Direct is one of the cleanest brand-name rows here: four FDA-approved products, no compounding, cash prices on a public page, a separately priced programme fee that the seller says excludes the drug, and the two states it does not serve named outright. It is also the most heavily footnoted. Every one of those four prices holds at one dose, for a limited time, and one of them is quoted by the carton.

$149/mo⛔ ONE DOSE ONLY, AND THE FEE IS EXTRA. "As low as $149 per month" for Wegovy Pill, footnoted: "Wegovy tablet offer applies only to 1.5 mg. 4 mg dose is $199/month. Higher doses start at $299/month. Membership fee of $39/month applies and does not include medication cost." So the real first-month outlay at the advertised dose is the medication plus a separate membership, and the medication itself roughly doubles at the top of the ladderVerified September 2026source

No compounding, and it says so

The page states that only FDA-approved medications are offered. That removes at a stroke the questions that dominate most rows here — which pharmacy compounded it, under which rule, and whether the preparation has been evaluated at all.

Four products are priced: an oral semaglutide tablet, the semaglutide pen in two strengths, an orforglipron tablet and the tirzepatide pen.

It also says, on the same page, that it is not insurance. Given the company's better-known business is a discount card, that sentence is doing real work.

The fee is priced, and it excludes the medicine

A monthly programme fee is stated twice, and both times with the same clause attached: it does not include the cost of medication.

That is the disclosure this roster most often has to reconstruct from a seller's silence. Here it is printed beside the price it modifies, so the real monthly outlay is the sum of two numbers a reader can see.

It also names the two states where the service is not available, which is more precise than a fifty-state banner and easier to check.

Four prices, and four sets of conditions

The tablet figure holds at one dose only; the next band up is a third dearer and anything above that roughly doubles. The orforglipron figure holds at two doses until a named date. The pen figure covers the first two fills at the two lowest strengths and then rises by three quarters.

The high-dose pen is stranger: it is priced per carton, at one, two or three cartons a month. That is a unit no other seller on this roster uses, and a reader comparing it against a monthly figure elsewhere is comparing different things.

All of this is published, which is to the seller's credit. It is published in footnotes under prices set in large type, which is not.

The footnote that is not there

The most expensive of the four products carries a footnote marker. The page prints the text of two footnotes, and that marker is the third.

So the conditions on the dearest product — the dose it applies to, the date it expires, whether it changes after a set number of fills — are not stated anywhere we could find. The other three all have such conditions, which is why the absence is worth naming rather than assuming there are none.

One smaller thing: the page's own weight-loss calculator applies a flat twenty per cent factor to every reader, and says so in its own small print, while the studies it cites underneath report different results for the different drugs it sells.

We screened this seller against the FDA's live warning-letter table with both controls green and found no letter. That is a result about the table we searched.

Good fit if

  • Readers who want an FDA-approved drug rather than a compounded one, at a published cash price.
  • Buyers who want the programme fee stated separately from the medication.
  • People who want to know which states are excluded before they start.
  • Anyone willing to read four footnotes before trusting a headline.

Look elsewhere if

  • Anyone who will be on a higher dose, where every advertised figure rises sharply.
  • Readers in the two states named as unserved.
  • Buyers who want a compounded option at a lower price.
  • People who need the conditions on the dearest product, which are not published.

How this review was verified

  • Read the priced weight-loss page and the terms of use on 7 September 2026, comparing requested to effective URLs, with a nonsense path on the same host in the same run — it returned a 404 with a body larger than any real page in this batch, so the status code decided and not the size.
  • Read every footnote in full and quoted the relevant one into each price record, rather than recording the headline figure alone.
  • Checked each footnote marker against the footnotes actually printed, which is how the missing one was found.
  • Took the state position from the seller's own sentence naming the two states it excludes, and recorded the rest rather than asserting a fifty-state claim it does not make.
  • Screened the live FDA warning-letter table by company name with a positive control returning exactly one row and a nonsense control returning none.

Where GoodRx Care Direct ranks

GoodRx Care Direct qualifies for 4 of the 6 boards on this site. A board only ranks the providers that meet its own condition, so a missing board means GoodRx Care Direct does not publish what that board sorts on.
