Our assessment

NovoCare Pharmacy is the drugmaker's own cash-pay channel for its two semaglutide brands, and it prints something almost nobody else here will: every rung of the self-pay ladder, for the pen and for the tablet. It names the two pharmacies that dispense, and says plainly that neither of them is the manufacturer. The catch is on the pen. Two of the four headline cards are an entry rate that covers two fills, and the expiry sits in a footnote instead of on the card. There is no list of states, and nothing either way about a program fee.

A price for every dose, not just the first one

Most sellers publish one figure and leave you to find out at titration what the higher strengths cost. Here every rung of the tablet ladder is printed, and so is every rung of the pen ladder, with the strengths each figure covers named beside it.

That matters most on an approved product, because the step between strengths is large and the dose you end on is not the dose you start on. You can price out a year before buying anything.

The seller also defines a month in writing: a bottle of thirty tablets, a box of four pens, a box of one pen. Three units, all stated. Check which one a figure belongs to before you set it against a flat monthly seller.

Two of the four headline figures run out

The two pen cards quote a rate that applies to two fills, for patients new to the program, and then steps up to a higher standing rate. The card doesn't say so. The footnote behind it does.

The tablet figures are a different thing. Those are the self-pay prices by dose, and the seller's own printed price guide agrees with the page rung for rung. Only the pen carries a countdown.

Forty-three of the four hundred and twenty sellers here carry an introductory rate. What makes this one worth a second look is that the same headline number appears on four cards across two products, so it is easy to carry a tablet figure over to a pen, or the other way round.

Who actually fills it

The pages state twice which pharmacies fill a cash prescription, and both are separate businesses from the company whose name is on the drug. Ninety-four of the four hundred and twenty sellers here name a dispensing or compounding pharmacy at all, so this is disclosure at the better end of the field.

Delivery is scoped differently for the two routes, and the difference is easy to miss. One is described as available for local pharmacy pickup with a savings offer, the other for pickup or home delivery. Confirm which applies to the product you want.

Twenty-five of the four hundred and twenty sellers here publish brand-name prices and no compounded price, and this is one of them. Everything on offer is an FDA-approved finished drug, with a national drug code printed for every strength.

Two FDA warning letters, and one is about these drugs

Eighty of the four hundred and twenty sellers here carry an FDA warning letter. A letter is a disclosure, not a finding of guilt, and no company is scored down here for one. It is still a fact you are owed before paying.

The first, from September 2025, concerns a direct-to-consumer video about the two semaglutide brands sold on this page. The agency's stated reasoning was that the video omitted a contraindication from the boxed warning and misrepresented the safety profile. Same drug line, same company, same year.

The second, from March 2026, follows an inspection and concerns postmarketing adverse drug experience reporting requirements. Both letters carry a number, a date and a link to the agency's own text, so you can read them rather than take a summary.

What it leaves out

There is no list of states. What the pages carry instead is a territorial condition covering the United States and its territories, which answers a different question. Two hundred and eighty-six of the four hundred and twenty sellers here publish no service area at all, so the silence is ordinary.

One hundred and eighty-two of the four hundred and twenty sellers here say nothing either way about a membership or program fee, and this is one of them. Neither page says a fee applies, and neither says one doesn't.

Eligibility is conditioned rather than open. You must be uninsured, or insured and choosing to self-pay, and the medication must have been prescribed for an approved use in the product's own labeling. Both conditions sit outside the price and both can disqualify you.

The pages also argue against compounded semaglutide, which competes with what they sell. Those are the manufacturer's claims about a rival category, and they are attributed to it here rather than treated as an independent finding.
